I send a link to my 27 page pdf brief to a client. He wrote back “I can’t download your pdf file”. This is a common problem with a easy fix.
The fix: Right click on the link. Click “save link as”. Save to your desktop. You can park it later. Now click on the icon on your desktop. It will open.
Here is why it works: The pdf program in your computer devotes insufficient resources to downloading. Things time out. By comparison when you “right click” you are NOT using the pdf program; you are using Microsoft’s file downloader. This program devotes more of your resources. It does the job quick and better. Now the file is downloaded and parked on your desktop. When you click on it the Acrobat pdf program does not need to download it from the net. It only needs to read it from your file in your computer. This it can do quickly.
