Lesson 24. Please upgrade your list of players.
If I am to be efficient and affordable then I need your full cooperation in providing me with information pertaining to the people involved in this drama. If necessary please upgrade your list of players. The list can be either above or below your chronology within the same document.
I need the email addresses, telephone numbers, and addresses so that I may investigate and send documents.
I also need some personal data so that I can understand my client and those in his support group.
1 The client is #1 on the list. For the client I would like to know things like: Name, email address, address, telephone number, age, date of birth, place of birth, occupation, education, prison record, children, parents, dates of marriages, list of wives, etc.
2 As for a person who is not the client but who is paying for my work I would like to know Name, email address, address, telephone number, aAge, date of birth, place of birth, occupation, education, prison record, children, parents, dates of marriages, list of wives, etc For the person paying for my work I would like to know when and how you first met the client. Example: We met in high school in 1995. We met at work. I met him when he was in prison; I write to guys in prison. I crashed into is car on the freeway in 2006.
3 For the children of the client I would like to know their ages, names, gender (if not clear from the name), and who they live with.
4 Definition: “Support Group” is a group of people who may or not know each other. They are the people on whom the client relies for financial, social, and emotional support. Usually this group consists of a spouse or quasi-spouse, parents, siblings, children, and various friends, employees, and/ or employers/ clients.
Regarding the Support group I would like to know how to get hold of them for the following reasons:
A Maybe they would be paying me for work for the client.
B Maybe they would drive the client to court, to work, or anywhere.
C Maybe they would provide emotional support to the client.
D Maybe they would provide guidance to the client.
Any human drama can be explained by:
1. A chronology;
2. A list of the cast of players;
3. A list of pertinent documents
4. A list of addresses, locations, places.
How to make a list of players.
1. Begin with you and/ or the defendant/ plaintiff. Many people forget to tell me about themselves. Tell me your telephone number, name, age, address, email address. Write it all in one paragraph. One line. Do not make a 5 line entry. That takes up too much vertical space and I cannot see the whole list.
2. Next player: the court.
3. Read through your chronology. As you read a person’s name then list that person in the list of players. Be sure to list all the people that you mention in the chronology.
4. I don’t merely want a mere list. I want the information that you know regarding these people. Here are some of the people who may be on your list depending on the situation. If you are claiming poverty then please list all your immediate family members, siblings, and parents so that I can call them and ask them to help you to pay. Here is a list to remind you of who you may or may not want to include in the list.
a. You, yo momma, yo baby momma, your support groups, the witnesses, the alleged victims, the cops, the court reporter, the other court reporter, the next court reporter, the clerk in the courtroom, your lawyer, your lawyer’s secretary, your previous lawyer, the lawyer before that, the prosecutor, the judge, the court, the court in your other case, the state court of appeal, your local federal court, your wife, your previous wife, your dad, your mom, your brothers and sisters and half brothers and half sisters, you stepmom, your stepdad, your girlfriend, your boyfriend, your support group - list each member.
