Lesson #3: Chronology 101: How to Tell Your Story to Lawyerdude
1. I recommend the following format for you to tell me your story. I am not asking you to do research. I am asking you to use the following format to tell me what you already know. Don’t make this difficult. The goal is to make it easier to tell your story. The goal is to find an orderly way for you to tell me “who, what, when, where, why, and how.” Tell me names, dates, places, and facts.
All legal stories/ events are most efficiently told by means of the following subdocuments:
a. Here is how to write a “chronology of operative events” - a document that is name-rich, date-rich, and fact-rich. The chronology is not meant to be difficult; it is merely a way to tell your story in an orderly fashion. I am not asking you for anything you don’t already know. I am merely asking you to put your information in order a follows: Begin each paragraph with a date in this format: 2007 3 23. Begin with the year that you were born. List the year that you finished high school. If your case pertains to child support then please list the dates when your children were born. Then skip forward to the day that your current situation began. Sometimes that is the day that you received a ticket or got arrested. Simply begin writing your story and use the following practices:
i. When you mention a person in your story then take time out and insert that person’s name in the list of dossiers of the players.
ii. Do not ever use the words “public defender” or “lawyer” or any other “title” without following it by the name of that person. Therefore you won’t complain about the “public defender”. You will complaint about “public defender Joe Smith”.
iii. Do not use ALL CAPS.
b. A list of dossiers for all the players: See also: http://www.lawyerdude.netfirms.com/9013.html - How to make a list of players. Begin with you. Many people forget to tell me about themselves. Tell me your telephone number, name, age, occupation, address, email address, etc. Write it all in one paragraph. One line. Do not make a 5 line entry. That takes up too much vertical space and I cannot see the whole list. Next player: the court. Be sure to list all the people that you mention in the chronology. I don’t merely want a mere list. I want the information that you know regarding these people. Here are some of the people who may be on your list depending on the situation. If you are claiming poverty then please list all your immediate family members, siblings, and parents so that I can call them and ask them to help you to pay. Here is a list to remind you of who you may or may not want to include in the list.
You, yo momma, yo baby momma, your support groups, the witnesses, the alleged victims, the cops, the court reporter, the other court reporter, the next court reporter, the clerk in the courtroom, your lawyer, your lawyer’s secretary, your previous lawyer, the lawyer before that, the prosecutor, the judge, the court, the court in your other case, the state court of appeal, your local federal court, your wife, your previous wife, your dad, your mom, your brothers and sisters and half brothers and half sisters, you stepmom, your stepdad, your girlfriend, your boyfriend, your support group - list each member.
c. A list of transcripts and/ or a list of court dates for which we need transcript. We will demand e-transcripts.
d. A list of documents. I will upload these and link them to your chronology/ list of players/ data sheet. Here is a hyperlink to Lesson 25: How to make a List of documents. Http://www.lawyerdude.netfirms.com/9014.html
e. A list of what you want the court to do for you - if you know.
f. A list of your issues and concerns.
g. Sometimes I also need a list of places/ addresses but usually the addresses will be listed in the dossiers.
1. Here is what I do:
a I predict the future. People ask me “what will happen in this case?”
b I help you to control the future and make it turn out in your favor; even when it seems that legal forces are acting on you, it is you who best controls what will happen to you. You control the future better by communicating in writing with the judge by means of written motions.
c I analyze your rights and publish my findings in written court motions. This requires me to know the cases that define your common law rights. l weave the case law into your facts situation (which you have told me in your chronology). My talent is being about to know what the courts have previously ruled. My talent is being able to articulate this for you in writing so that the judge will agree with you. The police are not lawyers. If I can explain to the police and prosecutor then they will see your point of view. Example: The judge only knows that you failed to appear; I articulate to him in writing that you were not obligated to appear because the court lost jurisdiction when the prosecution admitted that their complaint was erroneous. I articulate that the complaint was stricken by operation of law. I explain why as follows: California Civil Code section 3529 expresses the pertinent maxim: “That which ought to have been done is to be regarded as done, in favor of him to whom, and against him from whom, performance is due.” This is how I persuade other people to respect your rights. Since I have explained to the judge that he has no jurisdiction, he is less likely to issue a warrant. This is from an actual case. Here is a link to my motion #8551 in that case: http://www.lawyerdude.netfirms.com/8851.pdf and http://www.lawyerdude.netfirms.com/8851.html
d I communicate efficiently on your behalf; that is why I need everybody’s email address, office address, home address, telephone number, cell phone number, fax number, and web address.
e I find a legal remedy for your legal problem; there are no new legal remedies under the sun; they are all listed in a book entitled “remedies”. All law students read this book. It is tested on the bar exam.
f I effectuate the legal remedy.
g I bring order to your life by applying organizational skills and methods such as the chronology and lists.
h I deliver custom legal pleadings to the internet for you to download, print, and serve.
2. Here is what you do:
a. Please tell me your phone number. Or call me at 888 476 8954. Or email me at Lawyerdude1989@yahoo.com
b. Fax/ email me the police report and the ticket.
c. Order an e-transcript of each court appearance in this case. Transcripts are fundamental - and what makes my system different and better.
d. Write a chronology as described below and save it on your computer in a file labeled 7777. Then upgrade the name when I assign you your serial number.
e. Write dossiers for all the players as described below. Add it to the data in #7777
f. Write a list of documents as described below. Add it to the data in #7777
g. Send me your police reports of a copy of your file. You can fax them to 805 830 5156. Or you can scan them and attach them to an email. Or you can copy them and mail them to me. Call me to find out the best address for mailing.
h. Send me money as described below.
i. De-brief after every court appearance and other event.
j. Obtain e-transcript of every hearing.
3. People love to tell me their story on the phone; that is not efficient; tell me your story in writing.
4. Do not use ALL CAPS.
5. People call me and want to tell me what happened today. That is good. This is called “debriefing”. Here is how to debrief at this following hyperlink: http://www.lawyerdude.netfirms.com/7775.html I will make the table of contents. If you have already sent a chronology to me then tell today’s new events in the form of a partial chronology.
6. Paperless office. It is my goal to have everything available at the click of a button - preferably uploaded to the internet. Therefore I will upload all the documents on the list of documents. Therefore, when we talk about a document we will talk about document #1, document #2, etc.
7. Please put your chronology and list of players and all your data in one file and email it to me. I will assign a serial number to your case. Call it 7777 for now. Save this file on your computer so that you can send it to me. Also you can upgrade it. It is your job to upgrade your chronology. It is your job to keep the chronology on your computer in a file labeled with the serial number that I assign to your chronology.
8. Money. You can use your debit/ credit card. Call me and I will send you a link. There is a $300 link here: http://www.lawyerdude.netfirms.com/8775.html Just click on the button that says “Buy now”.
9. Or you can go to WalMart and send a Moneygram to Doug Palaschak, Illinois. Or you can go to K-mart and send money by Western Union. Or you can mail money to me. Call me to find out the best address.
